I received a typed rejection letter to my one mailed query, and have two agents I’ve “nudged”, meaning I sent them a follow-up email.
I have also continued work on the sequel, First Knight of the Light: Migration, and a third project, a contemporary fiction novel called “Bad Day at Bear Wallow”, a story of a school administrator’s efforts to make his school safer for his students and staff, and the awful day those lessons have to be applied. I have completed nearly half of the sequel, and am four chapters into Bad Day.
I try to write every day. Some days are easier than others. There’ve been a few days where I’ve looked up to see its after midnight, and I’ve written 4,000 words, and others where I’ve struggled to write 500 words. Thank God I’m not a starving artist.
I have been critiquing other writers on a website. Sharing my writing knowledge with others has improved my own writing. There are a lot of great stories out there, although one story in particular suddenly turned… ahem… spicy. I had to back out of that real quick. I learned to pay attention to the whole classification of an entry. I saw ‘science fiction’, and didn’t pay attention to the word ‘erotica’ that followed.
Definitely a lesson learned. Some writers have VERY vivid imaginations.
As always, feel free to share this with others, especially when I post snippets of my stories.
